'Our Space’ aims to build a complete picture of the school community: from past pupils, to delivery drivers, from governors to belly dancers! Images and measurements will be collected using a specially constructed photo booth, the ‘Our Space’ card or this website.

Sculptor Will Nash and photographer Anthony Carr, will then turn this information into new artworks, one of which will be installed in the school grounds in March.

Progress will be regularly updated here, and at Will's online sketchbook

Anthony Carr

Born in 1977, Carr studied Printmaking at Winchester School of Art between 1996 and 1999. Past exhibitions include Time, Burghley House, 2007; Making Visible, Charleston Farmhouse, part of Brighton Photo Fringe 2006; the house next door, Bedford, 2006; Bad Quality, SATES touring, 2003/4; Barbican Through the Looking Glass, London, 2002; The Value Of Straight Thinking, Old Museum Arts Centre, Belfast and DNA, The Spitz Gallery, London, 2001.

Carr’s practice is predominantly photographic based and his work is often produced in direct response to a particular place or situation. Generally documentary in style, the concepts and inspiration behind his photographs are the product of background research and develop from the experience of being in a place. Past investigations have taken place at the Barbican Centre, London, the new town development of Milton Keynes and at Willingdon Community School as part of the In+Visible project.

“As one of the artists from the first stage, I have been able to see first hand the positive impact the project has had on the pupils, the school and the wider community so far. My new role as documentary photographer will allow me to closely follow all aspects of the project. I therefore have the opportunity to not only observe but also learn the necessary skills with which to deliver a successful large-scale public art commission, very important to any early career artist.”
