'Our Space’ aims to build a complete picture of the school community: from past pupils, to delivery drivers, from governors to belly dancers! Images and measurements will be collected using a specially constructed photo booth, the ‘Our Space’ card or this website.

Sculptor Will Nash and photographer Anthony Carr, will then turn this information into new artworks, one of which will be installed in the school grounds in March.

Progress will be regularly updated here, and at Will's online sketchbook

Photobooth Sessions - an update

Thursday the 12th July saw the most ambitious day of photobooth sessions yet, as the Our Space project became part of the year 10 enterprise day.

Will and Anthony talked to groups of students, discussing this project, their other work, and working in the arts in general. Then every year 10 student was invited to become involved in the data collection, via the photography or the collection cards, or both. It was really fun running the sessions on such a large scale, and creating a buzz around school that lead to many more students dropping in to the open photobooths sessions that were run during lunch and break times over the week.

With these and many other sessions run to include primary students, staff, and eveing sessions to coincide with end of term celebration events we have taken over 700 photographs covering all apects of willingdon community school's commnunity - we are still counting the collection cards so are hoping to greatly add to this number!

Will Nash will now be taking the information that has been collected and using it to inform the scupture which will be installed within the school next spring.

Keep logging on to follow the progress!
