'Our Space’ aims to build a complete picture of the school community: from past pupils, to delivery drivers, from governors to belly dancers! Images and measurements will be collected using a specially constructed photo booth, the ‘Our Space’ card or this website.

Sculptor Will Nash and photographer Anthony Carr, will then turn this information into new artworks, one of which will be installed in the school grounds in March.

Progress will be regularly updated here, and at Will's online sketchbook

Response to Pavillion proposals

During the October exhibition visitors were invited to share their responses to the proposed plans for the pavilion in the courtyard via a consultation sheet.

The questions asked were

1. What was your first reaction to the Our Space Pavilion?
2. Would you like to spend time in the Our Space Pavilion? Can you explain why or why not?
3. What different situations can you imagine happening in and around the Our Space Pavilion?
4. What do you consider the most positive and or negative aspects of the proposal?
5. Is there anything else you would like to comment on?

The response has been wonderfully positive, with comments calling the project a “fabulous community venture” and a “very nice combination of community participation, professional finish and visual quality”

The exhibition included a scale model, a computer simulation and usedhelium balloons to demonstarte the size of the pavillion in the courtyard, giving visitors the opportunity to imagine how the space could be used. Suggestions ranged from environmental projects, a place for discussions, making music and parties - others thought it would be an ideal relaxing chill-out area where you could eat your lunch during a hectic day.

We also recieved thoughtful and useful comments about how they felt the sculpture may affect the surrounding environment and raised some interesting points about the colour and shape and how to use the space around the sculpture with several suggestions for plants.
